Eziyoda Magbegor

DOB: 13 Aug 1999 Height: 194cm Position: Centre Number: 10

Standing at 193cm at just 15 years of age, Magbegor's length and athleticism had the Australian coaching staff eager to get her into the national team as quickly as possible.

At the 2015 Under-18 Australian Junior Championships, Magbegor reached double-figures in six of out nine games while averaging 11 points and nine rebounds. She made her international debut at the 2015 FIBA Under-19 World Championship where the Aussies claimed the bronze medal and then represented the Under-17 Sapphires at the Oceania Championships later that year.

Dominating the tournament, she averaged 18 points per game to book the Sapphires a spot in the World Cup the following year and Magbegor then led the team to their inaugural gold medal at the World Cup.

Australia defeated the USA in the Semi-Final, snapping their 28-game winning streak at the tournament, and then beat Italy in the Grand Final with Magbegor earning a spot in the All-Star team and winning the Under-17 World Cup MVP. In December 2017, Magbegor was named to her first Opals squad and she then debuted for the national team at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, helping her country win another gold medal.

Domestically, Magbegor represented the Centre of Excellence and Diamond Valley Eagles in SEABL before signing a three-year deal in March 2018 with the Deakin Melbourne Boomers in the WNBL, ignoring lucrative offers from US colleges.

She went on to star in her debut season, earning the WNBL's Betty Watson Rookie of the Year award.
