GOLD COAST COMMONWEALTH GAMES SCHEDULE FOR BOOMERS AND OPALS

The Australian Boomers and Opals' Gold Coast Commonwealth Games campaigns tip off on April 6 with both teams aiming to defend their titles from Melbourne 12 years ago.

Both teams get underway on Friday, April 6 with the men hosting Canada while the women will take on Mozambique.

The Boomers will play all their group stage games in Cairns and the women will play in Townsville.

The Opals' first game will also see Ezi Magbegor and Nicole Seekamp make their debuts while it will also be coach Sandy Brondello's first time on the sidelines for Australia.

The Boomers then take on New Zealand on Saturday, April 7 in a Trans-Tasman clash with the Opals earning a rest day before they host Canada on Sunday, April 8.

Both teams then conclude their group stage on Monday, April 9 with the women facing England before the men tackle Nigeria.

If the Boomers and Opals finish in the top two of their groups, they will then earn at least three days off before the Semi-Finals and medal games are held on the Gold Coast.
