After the Australian Boomers’ historical Bronze medal victory at the Tokyo Olympics, back to back Silver World Cup medals for the Under 19 Gems and the continuous success of the Australian Opals in modern times, Basketball Australia has never been more present in the Australian community.
With basketball holding the title of the most popular sport for the 18-24 age demographic and the registrations for Aussie Hoopers exceeding expectations throughout a pandemic, this has become a prime time to be associated with Basketball Australia.

Not only does Basketball Australia highlight the achievements of the national men’s and women’s teams, BA represents basketball IN Australia, from the men’s and women’s wheelchair leagues to walking basketball for the senior but young at heart citizens in our society, BA provides a clear pathway from the grassroots through to national junior championships and beyond.

The work of BA’s Centre of Excellence development programs located at the Australian Institute of Sport, in combination with the NBA Global Academy has developed some of Australia’s biggest basketball exports like Andrew Bogut, Patty Mills, Joe Ingles, Aron Baynes, Lauren Jackson and Liz Cambage- with Josh Giddey the most recent Australian to join the NBA, drafted with pick #6 to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Passionate about inclusivity and equality, Basketball Australia has continued to grow the National Wheelchair Basketball League since establishing in 1988 and celebrates the success of the national teams- the Rollers and Gliders- at international appearances as both squads have claimed Paralympic podium finishes several times in the past two decades.

In it’s 40th year, the WNBL has become one of the strongest women’s sporting leagues in the world and Basketball Australia is excited to welcome the FIBA International Women’s World Cup to Australian shores in September 2022, to spotlight the talent and nature of women’s basketball.

As a Basketball Australia partner, you are not only associating your brand with one of- if not- the biggest sports in the world, you become aligned with stories of overcoming adversity, resilience, passion and hope. You’ll be maximising your link with the country’s most inspiring and talented athletes to build sales, championing the continual development of Australian Basketball, growing the sport at its grassroots base and partnering with a global sport recognised and played by millions.
