Clinton belongs to the Yawuru, Bardi, and Kija peoples in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.

His career has been dedicated to research, communication, stakeholder engagement, strong governance, advocacy, policy reform, and program management, all aimed at driving positive change for Indigenous communities.

He is currently a Director of Native Title at the National Native Title Council.

Clinton holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne and a Juris Doctor degree from Melbourne Law School. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

He is passionate about basketball and was a professional athlete in the AFL.

Clinton was elected to the Basketball Australia Board in May 2024 and is a member of the Integrity Committee.
