Media are hereby invited to the launch of the 2007/08 Australian Defence Force WNBL season at the Dandenong Basketball Stadium next Wednesday at 11am. With the inclusion of two new teams – Bendigo Spirit and Christchurch Sirens – this season

Media are hereby invited to the launch of the 2007/08 Australian Defence Force WNBL season at the Dandenong Basketball Stadium next Wednesday at 11am.

With the inclusion of two new teams – Bendigo Spirit and Christchurch Sirens – this season promises to be one of the best in the 27 year history of the League.

The launch will be emceed by ABC commentator and ADF WNBL Life Member Narelle Fletcher and will feature a short exhibition game between ADF WNBL players and members of the Australian Defence Force women’s basketball team.

FIBA World Championship MVP Penny Taylor will act as coach of the ADF WNBL team for the exhibition game.

All players, coaches and dignitaries will be available to media on the day.

Round 1 commences at 5:00pm AEST on Friday, October 5th, with Christchurch Sirens taking on Townsville Fire at the Westpac Centre in Christchurch and ends with Bendigo Spirit debuting against Dandenong Rangers at 7:30pm on Saturday, October 6th.
