Australia has finished third in Group A at the Albert Schweitzer Tournament and will now face Greece in the classification Semi-Final as they aim for a fifth placed finish.

Finishing the group stage with a 2-3 record, Australia split their final two games with an overtime victory against Turkey preceding a loss to host nation Germany.

In a seesawing clash against Turkey, the Aussies trailed by as much as 16 mid-way through the contest but fought back in an inspired 20-11 final quarter to force the extra five minutes.

They then won the overtime period 14-8 as Isaac White added 25 points while hitting 4-7 from the three-point line.

Jacob Rigoni also starred, collecting a double-double of 21 points, 13 rebounds, two steals and a block. Matthew Kenyon (14 points, eight rebounds) and Will Magnay (12 points) got in the act to keep Australia’s dreams of a top-two finish alive.

Germany squashed those hopes unfortunately, remaining perfect through the group stage with a 77-58 win. Australia struggled at the offensive end but saw solid production from Callum Dalton and Lat Mayen while White was again instrumental at both ends of the floor with six points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Those results pits them in a clash against Greece, who finished third in Group B with a 2-3 record. They will clash at 10.15pm tonight and the winner will then face either China or Turkey in the fifth-placed playoff.
