Australia have dominated the FIBA U15 Oceania Championships going through the tournament undefeated.  The Crocs and Sapphires played their respective finals today both defeating New Zealand to take home the gold medals and defend their 2018 titles.

The teams were led by experienced high performance coaches Zoe Carr (women’s) and Ash Arnott (men’s) who were impressed with the effort and teamwork demonstrated over the week.

Ash Arnott U15 Men’s Head Coach was pleased with the win “the boys were professional and stayed the course all week, New Zealand is a terrific team, and it was a great contest,” said Arnott.

“The Girls were fantastic and it’s incredibly humbling and special to represent your country” said Women’s U15 Head Coach Zoe Carr.

The Australians named as All-Star five athletes for the Championships included:

Sapphires: Jesse-May Hall, Sienna Lehmann and Sophie Taylor

Crocs: Dash Daniels, Nash Walker

All-Star five recipient Jesse-May Hall praised the efforts of the group.

“I think our defence has got better and better throughout the week and as a team we have got closer and closer so out teamwork has been insane,” said Hall.

Australia now advance to the next stage of the FIBA U17 World Championship pathway- the FIBA U16 Asian Championships 2023.
