The Board of Basketball Australia has appointed SRI Executive to drive a domestic and global search for a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The successful candidate will join Basketball Australia on the cusp of an exciting period for the sport in Australia with popularity and participation at record levels; the country’s senior and junior national teams ranked amongst the world’s best; a number of marquee international tournaments set to take place during the second half of 2021; and the anticipation of Australia hosting the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in 2022.
“The new CEO will be responsible for driving the organisation’s commercial, broadcast and media, digital, participation and high-performance outcomes in line with our new four-year Strategic Plan”, said Basketball Australia Chair, Ned Coten.
“The Board is seeking a commercially-focused business leader who can take the sport to a new level”, said Coten. “There is a great foundation to build on and we think this is an excellent opportunity for the right person to grow the sport and their career.”
