Basketball Australia and Spalding are thrilled to announce a partnership extension between the two organisations that will continue for a further three years.
This commitment will see Spalding remain the exclusive and official game ball to Basketball Australia.
The partnership includes Official Training Ball supplier status and designated rights as Official Backboard supplier.
Since 2010, Spalding and Basketball Australia have together been committed to growing the game at all levels.
Spalding Managing Director Chris Lambert says it’s an exciting time to be playing such a pivotal role in Australian Basketball.
“Spalding are delighted to be extending our partnership with Basketball Australia.
“The game is thriving, from participation rates within the Aussie Hoops program, through to the talent and ranking of our national teams.
“Our long term partnership with Basketball Australia ensures Spalding can play a leading role in building basketball in this country.”
Ensuring a significant national footprint for Spalding, the partnership extension features a continued integration with the elite program via the Women’s and Men’s National teams, key State Associations including Basketball Queensland, Basketball WA, Basketball SA, Basketball ACT and Basketball NT as well as the SEABL competition.
The commitment and focus on Women’s Sport remains with Spalding being the Official Gameball of the WNBL, the elite, professional Women’s Basketball League of Australia.
“Being the Official NBA and WNBA Gameball, Spalding’s credibility in basketball speaks for itself,” said Basketball Australia CEO, Anthony Moore.
“On a local front Spalding has been an innovative and supportive partner of Basketball Australia’s, particularly with their diverse product range catering for all players within our game.
“We look forward to together strengthening our sport for the future.”
The three-year deal commenced on June 30.
