Basketball has a new leader in Country Victoria

Basketball Victoria today announced the appointment of David Huxtable to the new position of Manager Country Basketball.

David joins Basketball Victoria Country Council following a long career in Local Government as a senior Manager with the Mitchell Shire Council. He has also been directly involved with country basketball in both administration and on court roles over an extended period.

Rod Bush, Chairman of Basketball Victoria Country Council said “we are delighted that David has accepted this position with us. He has a very strong background in management and organisation, experience that is important for us as we move into a review phase of our organisation. As an added benefit he brings with him a real understanding of associations and their challenges in today’s competitive market place” Bush said.

Basketball Victoria CEO Wayne Bird said “we believe David can represent country basketball at all levels and very importantly with his background build relationships with Local Government Authorities. A key component of his role will involve “selling” basketball to the wider community and we have every confidence David can achieve this objective.

We are confident David will hit the ground running as we enter this next very important phase in our sport” Bird said.

David begins with BVCC on July 6th.
