Stephen Fox named Life Member of Basketball ACT

Basketball Australia would like to congratulate Stephen Fox, who has been made a Life Member of ACT Basketball Inc.

Over 25 years Stephen has made an outstanding contribution to basketball in Canberra as a player, coach and administrator.

He started his basketball career as a player in 1978 and began coaching the next year. At the same time he became a committee member of the Woden Bullets.

In 1983 Stephen moved into representative coaching with the ACT Under 14 and Under 16 Boys teams, before being named ACT Coach of the Year – Junior Men, in 1984.

In 1986 he was involve in the merger of the Woden and Weston Creek Woden clubs and was named Coaching Director of the new club.

Assistant coach to Under 21 side the ACT Colts in 1990, he became a mentor coach to the ACT Under 18 Head Coach in 1992.

Stephen became a member of the One Basketball Canberra Board in 1999, including three years as President when he also served as a councillor for Basketball Australia.

Stephen is the 24th Life Member of ACT Basketball Inc.
