The indigenous Australian sports star recently accepted a role as an Ambassador for Cottage by the Sea, which is a community charity fundraising service based in Queenscliff, Victoria, caring for Australian children and families in need.
Mills, who raised $40,000 for the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal in a little over six weeks in support of victims of the January 2011 floods and Cyclone Yasi, is aiming to raise $25,000 for Cottage by the Sea.
In producing the line of t-shirts for the cause, the San Antonio Spurs guard has partnered with Wears My Shirt, a company that helps non-profit organisations and causes raise funds and awareness through the on-line sale of t-shirts.
"Cottage by the Sea is a non-profit that has been doing amazing things in the lives of less fortunate families in Australia for over 120 years,” Mills said. “My goal is to engage as many people as I can to join me in making a difference for these people in need. Buy a tee or a set of tees, show your passion for your country and share the love with others!”
The t-shirt designs were created around the “GAME DAY BALA GAME DAY” quote in Boomers Green & Gold and around the passion that will be shown by the Boomers as they strive for glory in London.
