Over the three days, players will complete coaching and education sessions based around a tournament-style fixture, highlighted by the Festival All-Star Game on Sunday.

Australian Gliders Head Coach Tom Kyle said events such as the Women’s Festival of Wheelchair Basketball played a major role in the development and identification of the next generation of talent that will represent Australia on the biggest stages in wheelchair basketball.

“The Women’s Festival of Wheelchair Basketball is a wonderful event for women's wheelchair basketball,” Kyle said.

“I don't think there is any other event of its type in the world. To see novice players, working with emerging players and our medal-winning Gliders is something that will sustain our sport beyond the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games.

“As the coach of the Gliders this gives me a great opportunity to work with some of emerging talent coming through our ranks, which is very exciting for the future of the program.”
