The Australians set the tone early, causing turnovers to jump out to a 10-0 lead just minutes into the game. The Emerging Boomers continued to exert their will throughout the first, as they got the job done on both ends of the floor, holding Israel to 4/17 shooting at the end of one.
With Israel managing just nine points in the first quarter, they showed some resilience in the second to tally 16 points for the period, but the Boomers would continue to build on their lead largely thanks to the play of Dejan Vasiljevic who was beginning to explode offensively.
At the main break, the Emerging Boomers took a 47-25 lead, seeing them in a great position to claim the Bronze.
However, coming out of the half-time break Israel began to show some resurgence as they cut the margin back to just twelve points just moments before the end of the third period.
From there the Emerging Boomers would show their grit and poise, as they outscored Israel 24-7 in the last period to see them prevail comfortably 86-69.
Dejan Vasiljevic was outstanding for the Emerging Boomers, dropping 33 points as he went 6-10 from the three point arc. Jack White was the only other Australian in double digits with eleven, while ten different Emerging Boomers hit the scoreboard.
The result sees the Emerging Boomers claim Bronze, as they join the Emerging Opals on the podium to round off a successful World University Games.
