Ms Campbell joins the organisation having spent the past 25 years in high-ranking executive roles within the Australian sporting sector, most recently as CEO of Netball NSW for the past 15 years.
On making the appointment, Chair of BA Ned Coten said: “The Board is delighted to have been able to secure the esteemed services of Carolyn Campbell as Basketball Australia’s interim CEO.
“Ms Campbell is a highly regarded, vastly experienced sports administrator who understands the inner workings of national sporting organisations and will be able to hit the ground running during what is a busy, yet exciting year for Australian basketball.
Commencing with BA this week, Ms Campbell will assume all CEO duties and responsibilities over the coming months while the BA Board conduct an executive search to fill the role on a permanent basis.
The appointment of Ms Campbell to the role follows the recent departure of Jerril Rechter AM.
