The Goannas are the Mens National representative team for deaf basketball in Australia and is made up of the best deaf athletes throughout the nation.
The Goannas represent Australia on the international stage in events such as Asia Pacific Deaf Games and the Deaflympic Games. Residing in multiple states, players travel once a month to their training base in Melbourne to train together for a weekend.
The team acts as a development squad, constantly improving players’s skills so they can become confident in joining a mainstream basketball club. The team is looking to develop for the future.
