The Jayco Southside Flyers are set to create WNBL history when they host the Sydney Flames in the first-ever WNBL game to be played at John Cain Arena on Saturday, February 4 at 6:30pm.
Sports fans will have a chance to be part of history to celebrate the glittering career of one of Australia’s most decorated basketballers, the legendary Lauren Jackson.
The historic clash on the big stage at John Cain Arena will be a Cygnett WNBL first, and with a capacity of over 9,000, it is shaping up to be a record-breaking game for a stand-alone WNBL game that will celebrate women’s sport in Melbourne.
“This is such an incredible event the players and all the staff are excited to have the opportunity to make history and play on the big stage at John Cain Arena,” said Flyers Coach, Cheryl Chambers.
“It is great for women’s basketball, and we look forward to huge support from basketball fans and all sports lovers.”
Basketball royalty will grace the courts as sports-loving Victorians come together to honour Jackson and her incredible career, with loads of giveaways and family-friendly fun and entertainment.
Ticket prices are just $20 for adults and $5 for children and will be available for purchase through Ticketek from noon on Wednesday, January 11.
