In his 13th SEABL season, Mitch Chapman will celebrate his 300th game this weekend when the Sandringham Sabres visit Bendigo on Saturday night.
Currently at 2-2, Sandringham sit fourth in the South Conference but have not won since Round 1. Both victories have come on the road which will give them confidence heading into the trip before they return home to host Mt. Gambier on Sunday.
Chapman played 297 games for the Frankston Blues, scoring 10 points per game at 42% shooting but has moved to Sandringham for the 2015 season. In 2009, he averaged 15 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists as Frankston won the Conference Championship.
In a storied career, Chapman cites that as one of his fondest memories.
“It was just a good group of guys. We gelled, we got along on and off the court, there were no ego’s and it was probably one of the most enjoyable years I’ve ever had.”
