Basketball Australia is mourning the loss of Natalie Curtis, a former member of the Australian Basketball Wheelchair Program, who sadly passed away on Sunday 5 February.
We, along with the Gliders national team, send our deepest sympathies to her family, friends and everyone who knew her in the basketball community.
A Queenslander based in Townsville, Curtis worked for the Sporting Wheelies, coaching and training a wheelchair basketball team, and was selected in the 20-person squad ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.
She was also an ambassador for the Australian Institute of Sport and advocate for people living with a disability.
The Gliders are currently travelling in Japan for the Osaka Cup and are being offered support. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this sad time.
