It’s the hottest ticket in town and there’ll be famous faces courtside at Rod Laver Arena when the Boomers take on The World.
Former Boomers champions Luc Longley, Andrew Bogut and Chris Anstey will be in the house this week as Australia take on Venezuela, Brazil and South Sudan in a trio of warm-up games ahead of this month’s FIBA World Cup in Japan and the Philippines.
Supporting their national team counterparts will be a host of past and present Australian Opals including Australian’s greatest ever basketballer Lauren Jackson, Olympic bronze medallist Michelle Brogan, former Opals captain Trish Fallon and dual Olympian Marianna Tolo.
There will be a distinct basketball flavour amongst members of the top-of-the-AFL-ladder Collingwood Football Club who will be courtside to watch Patty Mills, Joe Ingles, Josh Giddey and Dyson Daniels in action.
Magpies champion Scott Pendlebury, a passionate hoops fan and star junior basketballer, will join team mates including Brownlow Medallist Tom Mitchell, Taylor Adams, Brayden Maynard, Darcy Cameron, Billy Frampton and former NBL basketballer turn AFL player Tom Wilson.
You can get behind the green and gold and support the Boomers as they prepare for their tilt at the World Cup with tickets still available via Ticketek for Monday, Wednesday and Thursday’s games or catch the games live and free on 9 Gem or stream on 9 Now.
