Australian basketball unites in Melbourne for Ford BALLIN'24

The Boomers, Opals, Gliders, Rollers & Gangurrus 3x3 teams and broadcast information announced

Australian basketball has united in Melbourne with six of Australia’s national teams set for the Ford BALLIN’ 24 Melbourne series. 

ESPN will provide live and exclusive coverage of the Seven Consulting Opals and Boomers as they face against China from 2 -5 July at John Cain Arena.

Also in action, Australia’s wheelchair basketball teams the Ford Rollers & Gliders as well as the Gangurrus 3x3 men’s and women’s teams which will be broadcast live on Kayo Sports.

The Boomers campaign begins on Tuesday, 2 July - LIVE on ESPN at 7.30pm AEST.

Head Coach Brian Goorjian will have a squad of stars at his disposal, all vying for a spot in the final 12 for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The Opals take the court On Wednesday, 3 July - LIVE at 7.30pm AEST.

An intriguing mix of experience and youth has been announced in a squad featuring Lauren Jackson, Isobel Borlase, Cayla George, Tess Madgen, Marianna Tolo, Darcee Garbin and Maddy Rocci. 


Australia’s Gliders women’s wheelchair team will open proceedings on Tuesday, 2 July LIVE at 12:00pm on Kayo.

The Gliders will utliise the opportunity at BALLIN’24 to introduce some new faces alongside stars Georgia Munro-Cook and Hannah Dodd who competed at the recent IWBF Repechage in Osaka.
 

The Rollers open their home soil stint on Tuesday, 2 July at 3:30pm and welcome the return of star forward Bill Latham to a team featuring champions Tristan Knowles and Shaun Norris.

The BALLIN'24 series marks critical stage of preparation for the Rollers on the road to the Paris 2024 Paralympics.

The Gangurrus 3x3 teams will be live on Kayo for the day sessions from 2 – 5 July.

It offers prime preparation for Anneli Maley and the Gangurrus women – who made history with qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympics in March. The men’s team are bringing in some new faces alongside FIBA 2024 3x3 Asia Cup champions Will 'Davo' Hickey, Todd Blanchfield and Joshua Davey – taking their high octane game style to China.
