Stage is set for Grand Final Day at the Foot Locker U16 National Championship

Vic Metro will look to go for the double tomorrow with Queensland and New South Wales ready to spoil the party.

Australia’s next-gen stars are balling out at Red Energy Arena with a massive weekend ahead. It’s crunch time for the Foot Locker U16 National Championships with state rivalries colouring a weekend of knockout battles.

Girls | Grand Final Round

VIC Metro v QLD South 11am

QLD South head into the game coming off an undefeated run so far with Captain Olivia Olechnowicz leading the way averaging over 26 points per game through the tournament. 

Vic Metro will be looking to bounce back against QLD with their only loss of the tournament coming against them in pool play 71-62 in a hard-fought game. 

Boys | Grand Final Round

VIC Metro v NSW Metro 1pm 

These two teams played off on day one of the competition with Vic Metro taking a commanding 19-point win. Charlie Wilson (13 pts, 14 rebs) and Alexander Mabbott (12 pts, 10 rebs) led the way. 

NSW Metro Captain Antonio Browne will look to guide his side to victory to cap off what has been a terrific week from him and his side.

Girls | Semi Final Round

VIC Metro 70 v QLD North 51
QLD South 79 v SA Metro 61

Vic Metro will head to the Grand Final after an impressive balanced performance with Vanessa Tavete leading the way with 11 points. Isabel Smith did all she could for QLD with 28 points. 

Joining Metro in the final will be QLD South who led from start to finish against SA Metro with Olivia Olechnowicz and Mya Moke combining for 44 points and 9 steals for QLD.

Boys | Semi Final Round

VIC Metro 89 v SA Metro 71
NSW Metro 80 v WA Metro 71 

Charlie Wilson was everywhere in VIC Metro's 89-71 win going for 28 points and 20 rebounds. Three others finished in double figures for Vic. 

A double-double from Antonio Browne helped lead NSW Metro to a 80-71 win over WA Metro in the second final to set up a clash with VIC Metro.

SA Metro 86 vs 76 WA Metro 
QLD North 79 vs 57 NSW Metro
QLD South 91 vs 52 Tasmania

Vic Metro won the battle of Victoria with Sophie Richardson leading the way with a double double, while Elise Napier (25 points, 18 rebounds) did all she could for Country. 

24 points for Annaliese Elliot lead SA Metro to a 10-point win over WA Metro. Olivia Olechnowicz (32 points) led the way for QLD South in a 39-point win over Tasmania. 

In the final Quarter Final, a balanced attack with four players in double figures lead QLD North to a 22-point win over NSW Metro.

Vic Metro lead from start to finish against Tasmania behind 14 points and 11 rebounds from Liam Keogh. WA Metro used a second half blitz to win the battle of WA against Country. 

In arguably the game of the day NSW Metro held on to a three-point win against VIC Country with four players in double figures. In the final game of the night SA Metro took a seven point win thanks to 20 points from Josh Louis.
