It was a night to remember for the Australian Boomers and their four Olympic debutants on Saturday.
Josh Giddey, Dyson Daniels, Jack McVeigh and Will Magnay all achieved their childhood dreams of representing their country at an Olympic Games and celebrated with a first-up win over Spain in Paris, 90-82.
Giddey scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds and 8 assists in an impressive display.
Daniels, like fellow Victorian export Giddey, started for Australia and finished with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists.
McVeigh (13 points, 7 rebounds) added his trademark impact and energy off the bench while Magnay scored his first official points for the Boomers in international competition.
