Basketball Australia would like to extend its condolences to the family and friends of Basketball Australia Hall of Famer, Avis Scullin OAM, who has sadly passed.
For fifty years, Avis was a valued member of the Australian Basketball community, wearing many hats and contributing greatly to the development of score table officials across Australia.
Along with being a Life Member of the Diamond Valley Basketball Association, Avis held the position of President for nearly a decade and was the first female to hold such a position in Metropolitan Victoria.
Other achievements throughout her career included coordinating the technical officials at the 2000 Olympic & Paralympic Games in Sydney, being awarded the Order of Australia Medal in 2018 and for sixteen years between 1982 until 1998, held the position of Commissioner of the South East Australian Basketball League.
Basketball Australia pays tribute to a valued mentor, leader and contributor of the Australian Basketball community.
