Basketball Australia continues to invest in elevating the pathway to ensure coaches at all levels are supporting in their journey.

“We are committed to evolving the coaching support and resources space as the game evolves,” said Neil Gray, Basketball Australia’s Community Capability & Education Manager.

“There is an unprecedented demand for passionate and dedicated coaching staff across all levels in the country and it’s rewarding to see the engagement across the States & Territories in 2024”

The ‘Introduction to Coaching’ resources released in August added a foundation layer to assist entry into the basketball coaching realm and further development opportunities with the Basketball Australia Community Coach Mentoring Program, as well as conferences, clinics and digital offerings were provided.

The Building Better Basketball podcast hosted released 29 episodes over the year featuring world class talent in Shannon Seebohm (Opals & Townsville Fire), Matt Nielsen (Boomers & San Antonio Spurs), Jason Smith (Boomers – EGM High Performance, BA) and Sami Whitcomb (Opals, Bendigo Spirit & Seattle Storm).
