Rose made her debut at the 1969 Australian Championships and went onto represent Australia at the 1971 World Championships in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
A Townsville local, Rose was well loved in her community and known for her tenacity and skill on the court. Rose is survived by her husband Richard and sons Geoffrey and David.
