Cadee yesterday announced he will retire from professional basketball at the conclusion of the NBL25 season. The veteran guard has one more shot in the tank with Adelaide facing Sydney in a Play In Final tomorrow night.
Cadee was a member of the Australian Institute of Sport from 2009 – 2010 and played in the 2009 FIBA U19 World Championship with the Australian Emus.
His career in the green and gold included medals at the FIBA Stanković Continental Champions' Cup (2012 & 2013) and silver at the World University games (2013).
In 2017, Cadee was a member of the Boomers first-ever FIBA Asia Cup which ended in gold with Australia defeating Iran 79 – 56 in the final. He was also an integral part of the Boomers qualification campaign in 2019.
Cadee’s professional career started in New South Wales for the Bankstown Bruins and spanned across Australia, New Zealand & Greece finishing as a QLD / NBL1 champion (2019, 2022) & MVP (2019, 2023) and he was voted the NBL’s Best Sixth Man (2020).
Jason continued a rich history of Cadee basketball, with father Robbie representing the Boomers at the 1976 Montreal Olympics and Debbie, his mother, representing the Opals as a player at the Los Angeles 1984 Olympics and coach in Seoul 1988.
