An active baller since early childhood, Norton represent the country in the U17 World Championships in 2010.
He was awarded a scholarship from the Australian Institute of Sport, which he attended for one year in that same year.
Completing his training at the AIS, Norton went on to represent Australia at the U19 World Championships, after which he immediately signed his first professional contract with Townsville Crocodiles in the NBL.
Later he went on to play for Southland Sharks and Illawarra Hawks during the 2016-18 seasons.
Mitch has been contracted with the Perth Wildcats since 2018, being apart of two NBL Championships.
In addition, Norton was part of the Gold medal winning CWG 2018 squad and 2017 FIBA Asia Cup for the Boomers.
