In her fifth season playing in the WNBA, Sami Whitcomb has become one of Australia’s most experienced athletes in both the local and international leagues.

Four seasons with the Seattle Storm saw her achieve the ultimate success with two WNBA Championships and having now just finished up the 2021 season with New York Liberty- alongside fellow Australian, Bec Allen- Whitcomb has turned her attention to achieving success with the national team.

After making her first appearance as an Australian Opal at the 2018 FIBA World Cup- which saw the Opals bring home a Silver medal- Whitcomb now returns to the 2021 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup with a wealth of experience, providing her with the opportunity to lead a youthful Opals team as Captain.
