From the coastal town of Warrnambool, Victora, Jaylen’s wheelchair basketball journey started from a young age. It was ignited by a chance opportunity, seeing the sport played on the opposite basketball court his mum was training on. In Jaylen’s words, “from there on, I never looked back.” Jaylen also credits his mum’s basketball knowledge and experience as to his success in the sport.

Jaylen describes his major achievements in wheelchair basketball as competition in the 2022 U23 World Championships for Australia, as well as being selected to represent the Australian Rollers at the 2024 Paralympic games in Paris – where Australia would go on to finish in 5th place.

A 4.0 player (forward/centre), Jaylen would describe his playing style as an inside presence on the offensive end, but he is confident to be a shooting threat from the permitter.

Did you know?

Outside of wheelchair basketball, Jaylen is an avid AFL supporter, and if he didn’t play wheelchair basketball – this would a definite second option.

Additionally, he believes he is the best gamer in the Rollers when it comes to FIFA.
