Jackson represented Australia in 30 matches, playing in two World Championships in 1975 and 1979.
She formed a vital part of the 1979 Word Championship team that finished in fourth place – a ground breaking achievement for Australia at the time.
She attended the US college of Louisiana State and was the first Australian woman to attend a US college on a basketball scholarship, paving the way for what is now hundreds of Australian athletes each year.
She was a fierce competitor on the court and the National Junior Championship trophy for under 18 women is named in her honour.
She is the mother of Lauren Jackson who has been part of three Olympic Games as an Australian Opal as well as been a stand out NBL and WNBL player.
