Pat Moore OAM

Moore was one of the most influential women in the establishment of Australian women’s basketball.
She was the Secretary of the Australian Women’s Council from 1957- 1976.
This tireless servant to the game was the Australian women’s team Head of Delegation for the 1967 and 1971 World Championships and much later helped establish the WNBL in 1981.
She continued her close relationship with Women’s basketball as Secretary and later as President of the South Australian Women’s council from 1961 until her retirement in 1982.

– Helped establish the Women’s National Basketball League in 1981.
– Order of Australia Medal for Services to Basketball – 1984.
– Inducted into the Basketball Australia Hall of Fame in 2006.
