Biography

Versatile and dynamic, Alex Sharp has earned her place in the Opals 2024 Olympic squad off the back of consistent form at WNBL level.

The Victorian product, who represented Australia throughout junior level, carved out her college career with Wake Forrest in North California.

After graduating, she returned home to Australia where she would make her WNBL debut for Perth Lynx in the 2020 hub season in North Queensland.

Sharp debuted for the Opals in Jordan in 2021 at the FIBA Asia Cup where Australia reached the podium winning a bronze medal.

After three campaigns in the west, Sharp switched to the UC Capitals and her terrific form was rewarded with the league’s 2023-24 Breakout Player of the Year award.

Sharp is playing for the Rockingham Flames in the 2024 NBL1 West season.

Did You Know?

Sharp and now Opals team mates Ezi Magbegor, Keely Froling, Anneli Maley, Lauren Scherf, Maddy Rocci and Steph Reid won gold for Australia at the 2019 World University Games in Italy.
