Another Opal with strong basketball bloodlines, Smith has overcome injuries and developed abroad to take her game to another level.
Amid a brilliant college career at Stanford, between 2015 and 2019, the forward from Melbourne made her debut for the Opals in 2017 at age 20.
She won silver with Australia at the 2018 FIBA World Cup and reached her Olympic dream in 2020 at the Tokyo Games.
In 2019, she was selected by the Phoenix Mercury with pick 8 in the WNBA draft and was coached in the WNBA by Opals head coach Sandy Brondello.
She joined the Chicago Sky in 2022 but was later waived and returned to Australia to play with Townsville in the NBL1 North competition winning a championship with Opals assistant coach Shannon Seebohm and fellow squad member Steph Reid.
Returning to the Sky in 2023, Smith produced a breakout campaign which catapulted her into Most Improved Player calculations.
In 2021-22, Smith played in the WNBL for the first time with Adelaide Lightning and over the past two years has taken her game to Europe where she has continued to evolve and improve.

Smith’s father Darren played 211 games during a decade in the NBL while her uncle Jason represented the Australian Boomers at the Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
