Retired Collingwood AFL Premiership Captain and former Victoria Metro State and Coburg Giants basketball representative player Tony Shaw will headline a wealth of basketball identities presenting at the 2009 Basketball Managers Victoria Convention and Trade show.
The 2009 Basketball Managers Victoria Convention and Trade show will bring together managers, administrators, coaches and referees from all over Australia to put together a framework for the best practice management of Basketball Stadiums while also creating a blueprint for programs, competitions and facilities in 2030 and beyond.
Joining Shaw at the Kilsyth Sports Centre on April 8 and 9, 2009 will be all grassroots Basketball managers together with household names in the basketball community including; Andrew Gaze, Larry Sengstock, Wayne Carroll, Michelle Timms, Gary Fox, Bruce Palmer, Nigel Purchase, Lindsay Gaze, Seamus McPeake, Mark Cowan, Cheryl Chambers, Andrew Johnstone and current Australia Opals Coach Carrie Graf.
The Basketball Convention and Trade Show is supported by both Basketball Australia and Basketball Victoria and provides an opportunity for the entire basketball community to come together to network and share ideas for both the present and future success of the sport.
Over 35 organisations will showcase their products and services at the Trade Show and will join participants at the Convention Dinner hosted by Bruce Palmer and Gary Fox.
The Convention workshops will be presented by industry leaders and those working at the grassroots of basketball. Covering three distinct themes of Facilities, Competitions and Programs, the workshops will include: Improving Communication, Working with Referees, Working with the Media, Maintaining and Servicing Sponsorship and Stadium Security.
