Basketball Australia today announced the fixture and ticket release for the U20 & Ivor Burge Australian Junior Championships (AJC’s).

Players, coaches and spectators will converge on Mackay Basketball Stadium for the second year in a row for this six-day event from Tuesday 19 to Sunday 24 April.

The event will include 97 games across men’s, women’s, and Ivor Burge (intellectually impaired Athletes) competitions, with all states and territories featuring.

The Men’s fixture will include the NBA Global Academy who will participate in the initial rounds but not in the finals. This is great opportunity for the state teams to test themselves against some of the best emerging players in the world.

Last year’s winners Queensland (men) and New South Wales (women) are hungry to retain their titles but will face intense competition. In the Ivor Burge defending champions South Australia (men) are confident they can retain the trophy while the women will return this year following a hiatus due to Covid.

Paul Maley Basketball Australia Executive General Manager of competitions said “Basketball Australia are looking forward to taking this event back to the Mackay region. Tourism and Events Queensland along with Mackay Regional council have done a great job assisting with this tournament and we look forward to working with them again. We are extremely happy to have our Ivor Burge Women Championships back this year.”

Basketball Australia has extended its agreement with Foxtel/Kayo and will have twenty-six games live on Kayo Freebies throughout the week. In addition, all games will be livestreamed on the BA YouTube channel.

The event will be held at Mackay Basketball Stadium.
