The U23 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championship is about to get underway in Phuket, Thailand.

The Championship, which showcases elite junior male players of the sport, was originally scheduled for 2021 but had to be rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the postponement of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

The Spinners will compete in Group B which sees them come up against Israel, USA, Germany, South Africa and host nation, Thailand.

The 12-man squad features Lachlin Dalton, who is coming off the back of a gold medal victory in the Men’s Wheelchair 3×3 basketball at the Commonwealth Games.

Australia will take on Israel in game one tonight at 9:45pm AEST.

The IWBF Under 23 Men’s World Championship will run from September 7-16.
