The Jayco Australian Opals are bound for Rio next week but unfortunately Tess Madgen will be unable to join the team as she has been declared not medically fit to participate in the test event.
Madgen will be replaced by Sara Blicavs from the Dandenong Rangers in the WNBL, with the Opals first match tipping off on 15 January 2016 against Argentina.
Australia will then play Venezuela the following night before finishing their tour against Brazil on 17 January.
A number of players who would have made the squad had already been omitted due to overseas commitments or injury.
The test event competition in Rio will be followed by training camps in March and April and tours of Japan and Europe in 2016 in preparation for the Rio Olympics.
