An original Australian Boomer, Bruce Flick has passed away, aged 88-years-old.
Bruce Flick was monumental in the Australian basketball scene and will be remembered as one who made history, as he competed in Australia’s first men’s Olympic team in 1956.
A key feature of the Basketball New South Wales state team in the mid-late fifties and early sixties, Bruce made seven appearances at the Australian National Championships and in 1962, he had the honour of captaining the NSW side.
Honouring Bruce’s contribution to NSW basketball and all of his achievements, he was inducted into the NSW Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011.
Basketball Australia would like to extend our condolences to Bruce Flick’s family and loved ones.
Vale Charles Bruce Flick, 1933-2021.
